CFTC Commitments of Traders: We’re back up to date


Weekly forex futures positioning data from the CFTC:

  • EUR short 83K vs 81K short last week.  Shorts increased by 2K
  • GBP short 11K vs 6K short last week. Shorts increased by 5K
  • JPY short 25K vs 24K short last week. Shorts increased by 1K
  • CHF short 1K vs 1K short last week. No change
  • CAD short 41k vs 43k short last week. Shorts trimmed by 2K
  • AUD short 11k vs 10k short last week. Shorts increased by 1K
  • NZD short 2K vs 5K short last week. Shorts trimmed by 3K

The US dollar is definitely the place to be at the moment but that’s what happens when you’re the world’s fastest-growing developed economy.

Note that this report is now back up-to-date after many weeks of lags because of the government shutdown.
