US stocks end the session little changed

S&P and Nasdaq up marginally. Dow down

The major stock indices are ending the session with modest/mixed results. The final numbers are showing:

  • The S&P index is closing up 1.7 points or 0.06% at 2709.62
  • The Nasdaq index is closing up 9.7 points or +0.13% at 7307.90
  • The Dow is closing down -55 points or -0.22% at 25051.75

Trade uncertainty weighs on minds of the traders. In addition, the clock is ticking to the deadline for the next government shutdown. The shutdown will start on Saturday if no agreement can be found.

  • Intuitive Surgical, up 2.4%
  • Tesla, up 2.3%
  • Celgene, up 2.23%
  • Deutsche Bank, up 1.59%
  • Nike, _1.58%
  • United Continental up 1.11%
  • Cisco (earnings on Wednesday), up 0.83%
  • American Express, up 0.82%
  • Twitter, +0.63%
  • Boradcom, +0.61%
  • Adobe, +0.54%
