Up 5 of the last 6 sessions. Russell 2000 index outperforms again

The major indices are closing up for the 5th time in 6 days. The gains are led by the the small cap Russell index for the 2nd day in a row. The index was up 1.78% yesterday. Today that index rose by an additional 1.5%.

The final numbers are showing:

  • The S&P index rose 24.72 points or 0.97% at 2574.41
  • The Nasdaq index rose 73.52 points or 1.08% at 6897.00
  • The Dow rose 256.10 or 1.09% at 23787.45.
